Campaigners are being urged to rally together for one last bid to save the crucial service. Political leaders and key campaigners gathered yesterday for a meeting with Stephen Harrhy, the Chief Ambulance Service Commissioner responsible for leading the engagement process.

Despite previous claims that the two main proposed options would result in the closure of the base, Harrhy announced that his recommendations have yet to be made.

In an attempt to reassure campaigners, Harrhy explained that his final recommendations will be formulated following the conclusion of the third and final round of consultation, which was launched this week and will run until February 29.

During the second engagement process, it became evident that campaign fatigue had set in, leading to low attendance at public meetings. However, the message remains loud and clear from campaign headquarters – the base still has a chance of being saved, but only with the support of the community.

Lead campaigner Cynthia Duce took to social media last night to provide an update on the situation. She revealed, "Following our meeting today with Stephen Harrhy, the Wales Ambulance Services Commissioner, he assured us that he had made no recommendation and that he does not yet have one."

She continued, "His final recommendations will be made during March. Stephen Harrhy was clear in his view that this was not a done deal." In a plea to all residents, Duce emphasized the importance of making their voices heard and participating in the final phase of the consultation process before the end of this month.

Harrhy was particularly keen to stress the significance of completing the questionnaire. During the meeting, attendees included local Member of Parliament Craig Williams, Member of the Senedd Russell George, as well as County Councillors Elwyn Vaughan, Graham Breeze, and Joy Jones. Also present were dedicated campaigners Clive Duce, Cynthia Duce, and Bob Benyon.
