The new building, originally supposed to open in January, will boast a range of state-of-the-art facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms, rebound room, garden, community café, and more.

Additionally, outdoor facilities will be shared between Ysgol Cedewain and Maesyrhandir C.P. School, enhancing the learning environment for all students involved.

A spokesperson for Powys County Council said that construction work is currently in its final phase, with the building expected to be handed over to the Council from the contractor in late May.

Final checks and transitioning work will then take place over the following months, with the new building set to welcome pupils in September 2024.

The investment of up to £22 million in this project is being jointly funded by Welsh Government and Powys County Council, showcasing a commitment to providing quality education and resources for the community.
