Powys County Council’s Cabinet are set to discuss a possible 3.9% increase in Council Tax as part of the 2021-2022 budget.
As part of their Cabinet meeting, held on the 26th January 2021, the Council’s Cabinet are set to discuss the draft 2021-222 budget and financial plans.
As part of these discussions, it is indicated that a possible 3.9% increase on Council Tax would be needed to fund the budget. This follows a better than expected settlement from Welsh Government.
As can be seen the balancing of the Council’s 2021-22 budget is dependent upon a 3.9% increase in the Council Tax in 2021-22, generating £3.33 million and £285,000 delivered through changes to the tax base.
