Monday 8th February 2021 starting at 6:30pm

In accordance with the Section 1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meeting) Act 1960, meetings of the Town Council are open to the public to attend as observers except where excluded by by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

The motion, which is proposed by Town Councillor John Byrne, states that:

This motion is to cover the issue of dogs in public areas not being on a lead or under control by their owners. This councillor, along with others in Newtown, has had their dogs attacked by other dogs not under the control of the owner and not on a lead.

This Committee is of the opinion that signage, and other lawful and appropriate means of supporting dog owners to keep their dogs under control,is needed around town council services and projects especially Children’s Play Areas, and the BMX and Mountain Bike Tracks, and also at the new Riverside Venue and the associated river activities that are planned to take place.

Proposed Motion for consideration the Committee

The motion will be discussed at the virtual meeting of the Services Committee tonight (Monday 8th February 2021).
