Economy & Environment Committee of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council held on Monday 4th April 2022 starting at 6:30pm

In accordance with the Section 1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meeting) Act 1960, meetings of the Town Council are open to the public to attend as observers except where excluded by by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

Councillors on the Economy & Environment Committee which meets next Monday, will be asked to consider a proposal from Dukes’ Theatre Company to bring an outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to Newtown at St Mary’s Church and Gardens at no financial cost to the council.

The proposed performance date would be Wednesday 3rd August at 7pm and is accessible to all ages and tastes according to the accompanying documents.

Tickets are likely to cost £19 for a full price, £15 for concession and £45 for a family. The Town Council is set to make 20% of the revenue for the performance.

Councillors are likely to support the proposal.
