Hopes to plant 15 acre woodland near Newtown bypass

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 has been rising sharply in Newtown and the rest of Powys in the last week.

More than 35,000 additional laptops will be provided to learners over the next few weeks bringing the total provided by the Welsh Government since the start of the coronavirus pandemic to over 133,000.

Anti-social behaviour has risen in Newtown over the last year, despite an overall drop in recorded offences.

News that the UK Government is to accelerate its funding for the Mid Wales Growth Deal has been welcomed by the region’s leaders.
