A Newtown resident has been sanctioned by Powys County Council for fly tipping for leaving black bags of domestic refuse in and around a public litter bin on Park Lane, Newtown earlier this month.
The culprit has now settled the matter out of court via a Fixed Penalty Notice.
The audacity of committing this criminal act in plain sight of the police station is staggering.
We want to remind everyone that public litter bins are to reduce litter and dog fouling and not for domestic rubbish.
This sort of action creates additional work and costs for our hard working street cleaners, contractors and third sector partners and we would all rather this resource was invested in other initiatives.Powys Recycles on Facebook
