A pro-Palestinian rally was held in Newtown as part of a series of protests in the area.
The Newtown protest was organised by the Montgomeryshire Branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and followed on from similar protests in Machynlleth, Presteigne, Llanidloes and Knighton.
Organisers stood at the gates to the town hall grounds on Saturday.
They said they were drawing attention to “the ongoing Nakba (Arabic for Catastrophe) – the forced expulsion, by Israel, of Palestinians from their homes for over 73 years.”
They added that the recent missile strikes by Israel on Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip added a greater relevance to the rallies.
“Membership of Montgomeryshire PSC has more than doubled in the last two weeks as local people have looked for ways to show their support for the Palestinian people.”
