The Services Committee of Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council has requested an additional £6,000 from an underspent budget to complete the Town Centre Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) project. The project is part of the Council's 5-year plan.

At a meeting of the committee on the 13th March 2023, it was revealed that the original budget of £50,000 is not sufficient to build the kind of MUGA the committee wants. They are now seeking additional funds to build a "significantly better MUGA" that would require no future disruption if it were to be upgraded later.

According to the committee, this approach would be more cost-effective in the long run, as it would avoid the need for any future disruptions or additional expenses.

The request for additional funds will be considered by the Resources Committee on 20th March 2023, and then discussed by all councillors on the 27th March 2023.
