On Wednesday 3rd August St Mary’s Church in Newtown will host The Duke’s Theatre Company production of William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The Duke’s Theatre Company is the UK’s newest professional theatre company specialising in outstanding outdoor theatre.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is believed to have been written by Shakespeare between 1594 and 1596. The first edition of the play was printed by a man named Thomas Fisher in 1600, who was thought to have a small bookshop in London at the time. The play was entered into the Register of the Stationers' Company on 8 October 1600, when Shakespeare was only 36 years old!

The Duke’s Theatre Company returns after their critically acclaimed adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. This original production for Summer 2022 features live music, beautiful design and theatrical magic. It promises to delight audiences with Shakespeare’s most celebrated and comic fairy tale! The production will excite and engage everyone.

Tickets to the performance in Newtown are still available to purchase online. Visit: ST MARY'S CHURCH, NEWTOWN, POWYS, SY16 2BE @ 19:00 | TheDukesTheatreCo (thedukestheatrecompany.co.uk)
