A man in his 70s has admitted to sexually assaulting and raping a girl between 2009 and 2015 in Newtown.

Ernest Robert Noddings from Somerset pleaded guilty to 12 offences, including sexual assault, rape, and assault by penetration.

The 72-year-old will be sentenced later this year after appearing before a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court on April 21.

The sentencing hearing was delayed on March 10 by His Honour Judge Timothy Petts for a psychiatric report to be completed and filed to the court.

Noddings had previously pleaded guilty to similar charges, including assaulting a pre-teenage girl by penetration, raping a pre-teenage girl, and raping a girl under 16.
