For several weeks, locals and visitors to Newtown have been plagued and stung by the residents of a wasps’ nest, situated by the riverside path between the town bridge and the Gravel car park.

Several people have approached various authorities and organisations in an attempt to have the nest removed. All approaches have been met with the same basic response, I paraphrase, not our problem, and even, if you want it removed, pay for it yourself.
