Youth arrested after Newtown school put in lockdown

A youth has been arrested on suspicion of carrying a bladed article which resulted in Newtown High School going into lockdown on Friday afternoon (March 3).

Police officers arrested the young person, who was later released on conditional bail, following reports that an ex-student had climbed over the school fencing and made threats.
