Average sale price increase by 6.1% in Newtown

New 2023 data has revealed that the average property sale price has increased by 6.1% in the Newtown area compared to 2022, but the number of sales has decreased dramatically.

New 2023 data has revealed that the average property sale price has increased by 6.1% in the Newtown area compared to 2022, but the number of sales has decreased dramatically.

Data from HM Land Registry has revealed that during 2023 - 155 property sales were processed for an average price of £254,669. But 2022 data reveals that 246 property sales were processed - a big drop of 91.

However during 2022, the average sale price was £239,217 - £15,451 less than the 2023 average.

The data also reveals that detached properties are the most popular with 58 sales in 2023 and 85 sales in 2022, with averages of £296,827 and £306,429 respectively.

During 2023 there was also average sales of commerical properties of £600,625.

According to Zoopla, their House Price Index, which measures the rise and fall of house prices across the UK, has tracked a -0.3% annual fall in house prices in March 2024.

The average UK house price is now £263,900, which is £910 lower than a year ago and £300 higher than last month.

The pace of house price falls across the UK is slowing, and measures of market activity are on the up. There are a fifth more homes for sale and 9% more agreed sales as consumer confidence improves and mortgage rates stabilise.
