A NEWTOWN man wasted NHS and police time by lying that he had had swallowed drugs after spending hours in hospital waiting for emergency treatment.

Police officers had earlier placed Ashley Cunliffe in a caged police van after they found cocaine inside a Kinder Egg-type container on May 20.
