Powys County Council is urgently seeking supported lodgings hosts who can provide a spare room and offer guidance and mentorship to young individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 residing in Newtown and other areas of Powys.

These individuals may have previously been in foster care or be at risk of becoming homeless.

In addition to the personal gratification that comes with making a positive difference in the lives of young people who might otherwise face homelessness, supported lodgings hosts will also receive a financial reward, training, and ongoing support.

Cllr Sandra Davies, Cabinet Member for Future Generations, emphasized the vital role of supported lodgings in helping young people gain independence.

She encourages those who believe they possess the necessary skills and space to provide supported lodgings in Powys to get in touch.

"By becoming a supported lodgings host, you will greatly contribute to a young person's life by offering ongoing support and creating a sense of belonging," said Cllr Davies. "This support is crucial for them to build confidence and acquire important life skills for their future."

Those interested in taking on this rewarding opportunity can contact Powys County Council's team at 01597 827325 or send an email to [email protected].
