As the Met Office forecast predicts heavy, thundery rain for Newtown today, residents are preparing for a wet and gloomy day ahead.
The weather is expected to ease for a short period in the morning but will pick up again in the afternoon with further outbreaks of rain. The best chance for drier, brighter, and warmer spells will be in North Wales, however, even in this area, there is a possibility of showers.
Temperatures are expected to remain cool under the cloud cover and rain, with a maximum temperature of 18 °C. Tonight, the rain and drizzle are set to continue, with the possibility of further heavy bursts at times. Cloud coverage is expected to become extensive, with mist and murk rolling in for most by dawn.
