The Newtown Kindness Fest, held on Saturday, proved to be an overwhelming success, drawing in a large crowd throughout the day.

This was the second edition of the festival, which showcased a wide array of local businesses and groups providing an abundance of free activities and goods, including food and drinks.

Councillor Joy Jones, one of the event's organizers, expressed her delight at the fest's achievements.

She revealed that over 1,000 complimentary servings of tea, coffee, and cakes were distributed, highlighting the festival as an incredible triumph.

Starting at 11 am, the festival grounds quickly filled up with enthusiastic individuals who eagerly participated in a variety of attractions.

Attendees enjoyed everything from free bouncy castles to face painting, expressing great satisfaction with the range of available activities.

In addition to the entertainment, there were numerous complimentary food options. A staggering 1,000 hog roast baps, as well as a variety of mouth-watering vegetarian meals and crepes, were distributed free of charge to festival-goers.

The generosity extended to beverages, with almost 1,000 cups of tea, coffee, and accompanying cakes being handed out.

Adding to the excitement, a free raffle offered participants the chance to win a large food hamper generously donated by Morrisons.

Event organizers distributed over a thousand complementary items, such as bubble bath, shampoo, and deodorant.

The Newtown Post Office also contributed substantially by donating a significant amount of goods amid its recent change of ownership.

Councillor Jones expressed her sincere gratitude towards the volunteers, stallholders, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
