Residents of Newtown are reminded that there are only a few weeks left for garden waste collections in 2023.
The 2023 subscription sticker on green bins or the website can be referred to for the remaining collection dates. The 2024 service subscriptions will open in January, and the services will resume at the end of February 2024.
Cllr Jackie Charlton, Cabinet Member for a Greener Powys, said:
"All our gardens are looking very autumnal and rather damp at the moment, but that won't be stopping many of us from tidying them up after the summer and getting ready for spring."
"With that in mind, we are keen to remind everyone to make the most of the last few remaining garden waste collections of 2023."
"So far this year, with the help of participating households, thousands of tonnes of garden waste have been collected and recycled into compost."
As the amount of garden waste collected decreases during the winter, the service takes a break. However, residents can still recycle their garden waste by composting it at home or by taking it to one of the household waste and recycling centers in Powys.
Newtown's Household Waste Recycling Centre is open between 9am to 5pm, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and between 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
