Local resident, Thomas Evans, has been acquitted of charges of raping a teenage boy following a trial at Mold Crown Court.

Local resident, Thomas Evans, has been acquitted of charges of raping a teenage boy following a trial at Mold Crown Court.

The 36-year-old, who resides in Oaklands Park, Newtown, had been accused of the offence which allegedly occurred in March 2022.

Mr Evans consistently maintained his innocence throughout the trial and denied any involvement in the alleged crime.

After much deliberation, the jury ultimately delivered a verdict of not guilty on the single count of rape. The case was officially concluded on the 22nd February 2024.

In an exclusive interview with All About Newtown, Mr Evans expressed the toll that the past two years had taken on his health and well-being.

Mr Evans went on to express his gratitude towards his family and friends for their unwavering support, particularly acknowledging his mother as his pillar of strength throughout the ordeal.
