Powys County Council has announced a full road closure on the A483 near Dolfor, following an incident where an articulated lorry veered off the road earlier today.

The closure is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 16th, starting at 09:30 am, as authorities work diligently to recover the vehicle and ensure the safety of all road users.

The incident occurred just a few hundred meters from Cefn Lea centre, prompting the police to agree to a comprehensive road closure that is expected to last several hours. While the exact details of the accident are still emerging, it is clear that the closure is necessary to carry out a safe and efficient recovery operation.

Powys County Council expressed regret for any inconvenience this road closure may cause and assured the public that efforts are being made to minimize the impact on daily activities.

Specifically, users of the T4 route should be aware that the bus will divert at Crossgates via Rhayader, onto the A470 to Llangurig, and then proceed into Newtown. This temporary diversion is expected to remain in effect until the road closure is lifted.

The Council apologizes for any disruptions and hopes that the closure will not affect afternoon school transport or create significant challenges for those relying on public transportation. Authorities are working diligently to resolve the situation as quickly and safely as possible.
