Local businessman, Peter Webber, the founder of cancer diagnostics company CellPath Ltd, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship and business at the Welsh Veterans Awards.

The prestigious event, held on July 5th at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, celebrates the achievements of veterans in various fields, including business, fitness, sport, and the wider community.

Peter Webber, who established CellPath Ltd in Newtown back in 1972, was bestowed with the esteemed 'Contribution to Lifetime Entrepreneurship' Award. This accolade comes after he was named 'Entrepreneur of the Year' in 2019. Currently, Webber is the owner of XXO2Cell Ltd and co-owns LunchLocker Ltd.

The recognition of Peter Webber's accomplishments has garnered praise from Craig Williams, the Member of Parliament for Montgomeryshire. Williams commended Webber and another local entrepreneur, Arwyn Watkin, stating,

"Fantastic to see two prominent #Montgomeryshire entrepreneurs rightly recognized for their hard work and dedication at the Welsh Veterans Awards in Cardiff. Both Peter and Arwyn have given so much to Montgomeryshire over many decades, and are thoroughly deserving of their awards!"

The Welsh Veterans Awards, organized in association with The ABF Soldiers' Charity and sponsored by GHN Property & Developments, aim to honor veterans who have successfully transitioned from military to civilian life and have excelled in their respective fields. The awards also acknowledge reservists who have gone above and beyond and companies that actively support and recruit from the military community.

The event, which supports the ABF The Soldiers' Charity and the Royal Navy Royal Marines Charity, attracts a wide range of nominees, including veterans from various nationalities who are based or operate in Wales. The awards encompass different categories such as Role Model of the Year and Contribution to the Fitness Industry, providing an opportunity to highlight the achievements and success of veterans across Wales.
